So my classes started on Wednesday, and even though I was SO stinkin nervous about going because of the lack of details, it was AMAZING! All of my professors are so nice and thoughtful and caring! That definitely helped take care of some of the nerves!
One of the first things that my first professor did was read us a story. She said that we will hear her say over and over this semester that it is important to read to our students every day. That being said, she read us a book. It was called First Day Jitters. SO CUTE! It all about this girl, Sarah Jane Hartwell, and how she does NOT want to go to school. She's worried about not having any friends, and she's so nervous! Her Dad gives her a lecture that's all like..."You have five minutes to get your butt out of bed...we're not playing these silly games!" and such...so she FINALLY gets out of bed, gets dressed, and gets in the car to drive to school. When they arrive at school, the principal rushes to Sarah and tells her that she will show her to her classroom. A lot of the students are already in their seats...The principal takes Sarah to the front of the class and says, "Class I'd like you to meet....You're new teacher, Ms. Sarah Jane Hartwell!" HAHAHAHA It was the TEACHER who was so nervous to go to a new school!!! How comforting for all of us who are a nervous wreck! It was a great way to start the semester!
As far as schools go, I haven't found out which grade/teacher/school I'm assigned to yet...hopefully Tuesday will be the lucky day =) and from that point on, I probably won't have a life...but I'm ok with that (I think)...I know going into this profession that it will be a busy road, but with a very rewarding destination!
